A thought or two

...And so.....I did decide to go ahead and continue blogging.
I have to admit, it is becoming quite addictive.........I dont mind it though. Youre wondering why? Well, Theres a lot going on in my life right now, and as some of you might agree, its an ever so wonderful way of diverting your mind....when youre just in need of some mental diversity!! If ya'll know what I mean! I have to add...it works wonders....

So, everyone, Im just an anonymous someone, yet VERY real, sharing my thoughts.....sorrows.....joyous moments.....and basicaly anything that comes to my mind.
I find it of great interest reading about other ppls lives...their struggles...hardships...and how they overcome it....Or dont.......Lol! It can be fascinating at times.

I dont know how long ill be hanging out here, on blogsphere, or where this will lead.....but for now I feel the need to write write write!
And, so....from this point and on ill just let the flow of my fingers take over........and.................................................
sorry, im outa words

HI i've been reading your blog
and im sorry that you felt chasidism restraining
    maybe your parent/family were
but i'm not sure you can blame being chasidish for the closemindedness
    i have friends chasidim
    who import from china
    run real estate offices
    teach
    work in the med field
    computer work (like me)
    publish educational material in english!
    iron work

I have a cousin who teaches special ed for the board od education he wears white socks on shabbos

I dont think its the being a chasid thats constraining
its the situation one finds themselves in!

And on the other hand we have beautiful family values and times more so than non chasidim
    chasidisher families are usually warmer
again I feel bad that you got burnt

then it might happen in a modern ortodox family too!

I beg to disagree with you regarding chasidism.
    first.....
chasidism does indeed spell close mindedness. They do preserve, and protect their kids on a much more extreme level then the rest of the world, without a doubt.
If you consider yourslef an open minded guy, im quite certain that it is only a result of the research youve done "on your own"....to becoming more open minded, and the effort YOU have put into being in the know. Im sure you didnt get the current knowledge you have from the cheider. Im positive about it.
    second.......
why bother with trade school and with a college education, when there are hundreds of chasidim that cant even spell ther own name, cuz of illiteracy, but still have millions of $ in their bank account and be highly succesful in business.
what is that telling me??? that a 10 percent out of the vast majority of chasidim are succsesful, and what happens with the rest of em'? I guess foodstamps and goverment aid happens with the rest of em.

And who said chasidish families are warmer?
I know plenty of ice cold chasidim, as well as very warm harted non jews.
not that i have anything againts chasidic families. but its wrong to make a general statement like that.

    I respect your feelings
and totally agree that chasidim shelter their kids way more then they should.
But like you said "im quite certain that it is only a result of the research youve done "on your own"....to becoming more open minded, and the effort YOU have put into being in the know."

Exactly, It's there for those who put in effort. You know full well the stats ofthe chasidim regarding teen pregnancy suicides and drugs.
I didn't say it's non-exsistant, I said you know the stats, I too over shelter my kids, cause I love them enough to care.
And yes I know plenty of warm gentile families, but still the numbers don't lie.

Your examples are irrelevant, b/c they apply only to men. How many chassidishe women have careers? Damn few. Which is fine if that's their choice, but not so fine if you're a woman who'd like one.
